New permanent access point in the Franconia Road area to I-395 North and I-495 North
Local Franconia Road (Route 644 East) Road Changes/Improvements Effective April 22, 2007
Permanent Changes
1. Franconia Road (Route 644 West) area motorists heading to I-395 North (towards Washington, DC): Use new Franconia Road ramp entrance slip ramp to a dedicated lane taking you directly onto I-395 North from below the beltway area. Franconia Road ramp access point to I-395 North has changed, use new slip ramp, follow ramp signs.
2. Franconia Road (Route 644 West) area motorists heading to Beltway Inner Loop, I-495 North (towards Tysons Corner): MUST use Commerce Street Bridge ramp directly onto flyover bridge to Beltway Inner Loop, I-495 North towards Tysons Corner. Access from ‘old’ Franconia Road ramp is permanently shut off, USE COMMERCE STREET BRIDGE RAMP TO BELTWAY INNER LOOP, I-495 NORTH.
