Photo of final beam placement on span over I-395/95 South occurred by 4 a.m. Wednesday morning, May 18. This new bridge, expected to open later in 2005, carries motorists from I-395/ South to I-495 East/I-95 North, outer loop, towards Woodrow Wilson Bridge/Baltimore.

Mission Complete: Gap over I-395 North, at the Beltway, was connected during night steel work on Saturday, Monday and Tuesday nights, June 4,6,7. VDOT thanks motorists who were detoured and residents along the detour route for their understanding. The new bridge, expected to open by the end of the year will provide I-395 South motorists a direct fly-over bridge onto the Beltway's outer loop towards the Woodrow Wilson Bridge.
